Understanding NCEA

Marlborough Boys' College offers the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), New Zealand’s main national qualification for secondary school students. Recognised internationally, NCEA is a flexible system that combines internal assessments (coursework) with external exams. It is designed to challenge students while allowing them to focus on their strengths, paving the way for university study in New Zealand and overseas.

English Language Support (ESOL)

We welcome students with varying levels of English. Our dedicated ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) department provides specialised support to ensure international students can fully access the curriculum.
