Enrich Your Family Life

Hosting an international student is a rewarding experience that benefits the whole family. It’s an opportunity to share our unique Marlborough lifestyle, learn about a new culture, and make lifelong connections with a young person from overseas. Our hosts play a vital role in our international programme, providing a "home away from home".

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for families who can provide:

A clean, warm, and private bedroom.
Three healthy meals a day.
A supportive environment where the student feels included in family activities.

Support & Allowance

You are not doing this alone. Our Homestay Coordinator provides 24/7 support to ensure the placement works for both you and the student.

Weekly Allowance: A tax-free allowance of is paid weekly to cover board and food costs.
Ongoing Support: Regular check-ins and assistance with any cultural or communication questions.

Code of Practice

Marlborough Boys’ College has agreed to observe and be bound by The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021. For your information: published by the Ministry of Education copies of the code are available on request from this institution or from the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA). As this includes the requirement for Police Vetting of all persons 18 years and over living in a home to be Police Vetted.
